A Jumpsuit Like No Other

I wanted to dress the jumpsuit down so I just threw a jean shirt over it and tied it up. Cute right?

I saw this jumpsuit in the window of a random boutique in Atlanta. I looked at it from the window, and then kept walking. Every time I walked past that store, I kept eyeballing this jumpsuit...or maybe the jumpsuit was eyeballing me, I don't know.  This has to be the only piece in my closet that I can't remember where I got it from... or how much it was. I don't even think I looked up to see the name of the store I was walking into, it just kept calling me!
So needless to say I wouldn't have the slightest idea on how to link where I got this item from.

I bought this piece in my early twenties and literally said to myself  "this might be cute... one day." I put it in my closet and didn't dust it off for the first time till' about a year ago. I wore it to church and to a gala with my mom. I was so shocked on how many compliments I received, I guess I just didn't realize how bomb I looked in it!

Around the time I'd first bought it I remember thinking I can't wear this, it'd make me look older, this isn't really in my style range (like my age range...whatever that means) but I never threw it away. After all the times I've cleaned out my closet....I'd look at it and put it back on a hanger.

How many times do we see something attractive, or have a very alluring idea or set a goal for ourselves etc?

How many times after you have an awesome idea, do you talk yourself right out of it?
I can't go out for that job
I can't wear that dress
I can't start my own business
I can't go back to school
I can't afford that car
Im not in the position to buy that home
Blah blah bah

If those things weren't true....where in the world did you get the idea from in the first place???

Our lives are not meant to be lived within certain guidelines!! Why shouldn't you be able to do all the things you want to do? Whats stopping you? WHO is stopping you? Who told you, you can't?
Was it written somewhere in the imaginary book of "Things we're not supposed to do in life" or the book of "Things we don't deserve"
or was it even you? Was it you that talked yourself right out of a goal that would benefit your own life.

Until you've lived that dream...or reached that goal you'll always think "what if". Day after day, you'll  keep hanging that dream right back up on the hanger, just like I did this jumpsuit. It's not going to go anywhere...you're never going to forget about it. Just like this jump-suit, that dream/goal will haunt you. Whatever your life's purpose is will continue to call you until you answer to it.

Just go ahead, and answer

No Grey Area

Just because it's spring time, doesn't mean we get rid of neutral colors and tones. We all know that blacks, greys and nudes are the best basics since sliced bread and if we're being honest, quite a few of these colors saturate most of our closets as well. Colors that scream at you from across the street aren't the only colors that can make a statement.

Words To Live By:
There should be no grey area for living the life you want to live. Either you live your dreams or you don't. Either you settle for what you've got right now...or you don't!
Everyday, make an actual decision on what it is you want from this life!
Don't compromise on your goals!
There is no compromising!
If the thought of it doesn't scare you...you're not thinking big enough
Work longer
Pray harder
Plan smarter
Knock out the frames that hold your mind
 There is no finish line!!

Jumping In

Do what you can, with what you have, right where you are...

It's been a long while since I've posted on the blog. I call myself waiting until everything was right. Wait until I reorganized my wardrobe, or wait until I had a better camera or wait until I had some free time where I could shoot a bunch of stuff in one day and then on a consistent basis. The fact of the matter is, simple. If I keep waiting on things to be perfect...I'll be waiting forever. My reality is I work just about everyday of the week and nothing is consistent. I can't go to work everday and build somone elses dream, and then never come home and work on my own. With all the things that I want to accomplish I'll definitely have a lot on my plate, but it's been time for me to put my big girl pants on and just get busy! I'm just going to jump right in.

DIY Shorts

I made these shorts from a pair of acid wash jeans that I'd had for years. The pants were already distressed and over time the fringes continued to spread. I simply cut the legs off the pants and loosened the fringe so the shorts would purposely become "open-face". I left the fringes hanging just so it wouldn't look so clean cut. I love how they turned out. I kept the legs of the pants so maybe I could use them as leg warmers or something cool.

Enjoy!

I love to color block because it adds a ton of character to any outfit. Pieces never have to be too matchy! Although color blocking is mostly associated with neon colors, it's not limited. Find a color that isn't typically paired with another and there you have it! You're officially a color blocking expert!

Bodycons x Mustard

Zara Dress || Old Navy Vest (alternative here)  & here
HM Tooth Necklace (alternative statement pieces) ||
Steve Madden Clutch (old) TJ Maxx || Pumps || Lips

I felt so sexy wearing this body con dress from Zara! It was so simple, (and especially soft) I could have dressed it up or down. I wanted just a hint of edge so I added the vest and I think it worked perfectly with the dress and my nude pumps. My Steve Madden clutch is from Tj maxx! Okay so here's a tip: I've never paid full retail price for any of the name brand handbags that I have including my Michael Kors! TJ Maxx is really becoming a force with adding higher end labels to their stores and ultimately their brand and it's absolutely ah-mazing! Tj Maxx really does have great stuff for super great prices. I've even walked into their stores and saw labels such as YSL, Zac Posen and Stuart Weitzman! The lipstick that I'm wearing can be purchased at any of your local beauty stores, or CVS. The texture of it is so smooth (so don't be scared because of the price) so it goes on really easy. Most of their lippies come with vitamin E so you can actually feel it moisturizing your lips! They have a ton of different colors and I have just about half of their collection, so this is an item I can swear by!

Thanks for reading!

Blushing in White

Top|| HM Pants (Old)|| Moscow Mule|| Bag Thrifted

So if you know me, you KNOW I love high-waist bottoms and pops of color.
Today I decided on these textured pants with my blush mules from Lolashoetique. This button
down is perfect for simplicity because it's a "non-iron" blouse.
I tied it right up and was ready to go! Wearing this blouse
untucked would also be a great alternative for casual chic-ness
